Coral Sea Scuba and Water Sports (CSS) is now offering Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED online Part 1 and skills practice and testing sessions Parts 2 & 3.
What is it?
Part 1 is an online training program through the American Heart Association (AHA) which covers the critical skills and knowledge needed to respond to and manage a first aid or sudden cardiac arrest emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services (EMS) takes over. This portion is completed at home, work or wherever Internet access is available.
Parts 2 & 3 are the knowledge review, skills practice and testing potions which are conducted at Coral Sea Scuba with an AHA Instructor. This hands-on portion allows students to talk about First Aid basics including the use of an Epinephrine Pen and practice CPR with mannequins and the use of AED equipment.
Upon completion, students are awarded a card which is valid for 2 years and have access to their online training as reference until the card expires.
Who is it for?
This class is for adults with limited or no medical training who need a course completion card in first aid, CPR and AED use to meet a job, regulatory or other requirement and are seeking an alternative to classroom-based training or anyone who wants to be prepared for an emergency in any setting.
When is it?
We hold classes once a month but we can schedule private classes to accommodate individual or group needs.
